Become a Member of BOSS

Building Out Safer Spaces and Skill Sets (BOSS) is a community workshop where women, queer, trans, and femme of center folks can learn new trades, get hands-on experience, share knowledge, and grow skills in a supportive environment.

Whether you're picking up a tool for the first time, building on skills you already have, or looking for a community to learn alongside, there's a place for you here. We believe everyone deserves access to the tools, knowledge, and space to build, repair, create, and imagine what's possible.

What Membership Includes

Your BOSS membership opens the door to our scheduled programming, hands-on learning opportunities, and a community of people who are excited to build things together.

  • Apprenticeship Days | Tuesday–Thursday 12–4 PM

    Get hands-on experience working alongside our community on collaborative projects. Build practical trade skills, learn by doing, and contribute to projects that support our community.

  • Learn Nights | Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-9PM

    Join us during open shop hours to practice tool skills, explore new techniques, and work on independent projects in a supportive learning environment.

  • Project-Based Workshops Varied nights

    Learn by making! Join workshops where we'll guide you through projects like building a bench and other practical creations you can take pride in.

  • Special Art Workshops Varied nights

    Explore your creative side through special workshops that bring art, experimentation, and hands-on making into the shop.

Want Your Own Shop Access?

Memberships at $100/month and above include key-holder access, allowing you to use the shop on your own time outside of scheduled programming. It's an opportunity to build at your own pace, work on personal projects, and make the shop part of your regular practice.

All membership tiers include access to our scheduled programming. Key-holder access is an additional benefit for members at the $100, $150, and $200 levels.

We offer sliding-scale memberships because we believe access to skill-building shouldn't depend on how much money you make. Choose the monthly membership tier that best reflects your current financial situation. Every tier supports BOSS and helps sustain this community.
